Absa Cape Epic

Best known as the mountain biking equivalent of the Tour de France, the Absa Cape Epic is a highlight on the event calendar.

Every year spectators, brave riding enthusiasts and World professionals eagerly soak up the vibe as a buzz energizes the Mother City.

Starting off with a short and sharp Prologue on the slopes of Table Mountain, fans, family and friends look forward to following the exciting journey as it escalates throughout the week.

Some hoping for their favourite racing snakes to take podium, others praying that their loved ones make the day unscathed.

Each day tests rider’s skills, fitness and mental ability by taking them through some of the Western Cape’s most beautiful but #untamed routes.

For some, this is a life-long dream to experience, while others are happier to cheer from the sidelines.

Routes change year on year so that no stage is ever the same.

Although this year is a spectator-free event because of the pandemic, the 8-day event normally ends with a chanting finish at Val de Vie in Paarl.
