Michele Stuurman

“We’ll just wing it,” are words you’ll often hear from a smiling Michele as she encourages the group to an outrageous event that probably has an unrealistic training deadline.

A fusion of bravery and determination, Michele brings her super-charged energy to every training session.

Her love for living actively is inspired by her cycling DNA. Both her father and brother were former Springbok cyclists, her uncle an Olympian cyclist and her son now also rides competitively.

If you ask what she has learnt from sport she’ll mention words like, “teamwork, leadership, community, hard work, and achieving goals.”

Her dream is to work behind the scenes of a South African cycling team on the Tour De France and to meet Lance Armstrong, Tadej Pogačar and Cherise Willeit [Stander].

Michele’s comment to why she is active: “because I can push the boundaries of possibility every day. By doing what I do, I encourage others to as well [hopefully]. I love how amazing I feel after completing a run, cycle or workout. It helps build my confidence and feel strong. I love being active and meeting like-minded people.”

If you have ever met Michele, you would have experienced her infections enthusiasm.

Keep inspiring!

Michele’s favourite quote: “Wining is about heart, not just legs. It’s got to be in the right place.” Lance Armstrong
